I am new to the IWC brand but always loved the classic dressy style, and also looking to buy my first chronograph for birthday in August. Just wondered what are views on IWC as a brand, which would you pick Portofino 39mm vs. Portugieser 42mm?

The gold is insane 😍
I love it 🥰, definitely pick the portugieser over the portofino, plus the weight of a solid gold watch is like heaven

Yeah so is the price... it's on sale now £15k for rose gold and £7.7k for steel.

Yeah rose gold does look special

Normally they go for around 22 to 25k so that's an easy decision if we're talking about value
I am not a big fan of buying a watch as only an investment opportunity but gold does keep it's value longer than ss

That's what my guy from the AD said, this is good value as I think 2nd is around this price point.... and I feel I might need a gold watch for my birthday 🎂
I would for the Portuguieser 7 days. It’s my favorite watch from IWC. Love the look of it but my favorite part is its caseback. You can see an entire movement it is huge and is very pleasing.
Just wondering is the steel version of portugieser more wearable?
Also loved the look of this portifino chronograph with day date... I need to try it on
You didn't mention it, but the Portugieser Chronograph is a classic, classy, and awesome choice. Tons of dial colors to choose from, and a look that will never go out of style. Can be dressed up with a croc strap, or down with canvas or calf. If you can swing the Portugieser Automatic, that's great too, especially in gold, but otherwise go for the Portugieser Chrono.

I need to consider this one as I want a dress watch elegance and chronograph
