The bracelet is definitely a step above the old Seiko 5 ones, it's got solid links and end links, but the clasp is still pressed. It's ok but not great.
The crown is a bit fiddly and hand winding is barely possible with it recessed in the case, but setting it is ok.
Look at that case, and the curved crystal, and the polishing/brushing, and the orange hand, and that enamel-like dial, and the frame around the date-window, and the sharp hands, and the italics, and the size, and even the bracelet (and i hate bracelets) ...
did i mention the case?
I always liked this one, from the OG to new.
New watches from big name brands will always get criticized because negativity gets more views and watch-incels are constantly seeking problems that's don't exist.

The dial on this one is actually a brushed sunburst it just doesn't photograph like it, but the blue and black dials are apparently more enamel-like.

oh, i got blue and black so i assumed same for the champagne. anyhoo, complements on the excellent taste. you do enjoy that beauty!

I think they look great and with new movement a big bonus. Agree re price but in a year that will have fallen, same as dresskx did

Everyone has something negative to say about Seiko lately. They still produce great watches in my opinion. And this looks great on your wrist.

Very classic look. Frame around day date has a vintage look to it. Glad to hear the bracelet is an improvement reviewers tend to poopoo Seiko for them.
Alas, no. The old ones were an odd 19mm lug width that tapered to 16mm at the clasp. 18mm on these is a bit more common size.

Regardless what most YT reviewer says about this watch. Its still a great design.

They’re already selling for around $275, which is a fantastic deal for what you get
I bought the same one—I love it and I honestly don’t understand any of the complaints about the price. They’re already selling for under $300 but even at full MSRP it’s a beautifully finished watch with a solid automatic movement for less money than Swatch will charge you for a basic Tissot quartz.
Too small for my taste, but it looks like a nice quality watch, beautiful dial so enjoy it! And about the price: there are people that pay that amount for a plastic quartz watch because it says O...a on the dial 😎

I think the only spec that falls short is the mineral crystal. Stick a sapphire on it and I reckon the price would be beyond reproach.
