Thoughts on Pagani Design?

Back in January I took a 1 month honeymoon trip to Asia with my wife. I needed a GMT to keep track of time for work back here in Mexico so I pulled the plug on a Pagani GMT with NH34 movement. I believe I paid about $200 bucks for it in AliExpress.

Well, for a month I never took it off my wrist and it survived. I was really amazed and the quality - price ratio.

I wasn’t a fan of the aluminum bezel colors so I found a local watch store in Vietnam who carried ceramic bezels, so I obviously had it swapped.

Now this watch will forever remind of of the amazing honeymoon I had with my wife despite it being a pagani LOL. That’s what I love about watches - all the memories.

·

I've mirror image all my Swiss watches with these Pagani Design watches for almost 3 years now they've been running accurate and work like a well oiled machine. These watches have the DG Pearl movement and it's done it's job. I'm curious the build and quality with that NH34 GMT movement. Did they improve the bezel action? The Pepsi model in my collection was the best built and most accurate.

Great choice and happy to hear your positive experience with the Pagani Design. Salud 🍻👊🏽

Solid watches for the price. No fancy finishing but most people don't really care to pay thousands for that. 👍

·

Luv my paganis. Personally, I think the bad press they get is unfair. Sure, most of their stuff are homages, but why do they get such animosity? Breitling and Baltic do the same thing, and everyone loves it! But I digress — Paganis are such a great value, especially if you pick them up during a sale! One of mine has great build quality, Seiko NH movement, sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel, good WR, all for $75!!!

·

Big no from me, I’m afraid. I find them to be copies and that just doesn’t interest me. I prefer to save up for the real things.

No offence is meant, I promise.

·

Even with AliExpress brands you get what you pay for. $75 is a good price, and I would have to spend around that amount if I wanted to build one. There is actually relatively little differentiation in that market segment, meaning that the NH34 is rather common, and case, dial and hand set don't vary all that much between brands. It's based on one of the standard movements, so it should last you quite a while.

·

Listen, my mom has diamonds but wears CZ when on holiday. I don’t see any reason for watches to be different.

·

I find the price and artificial scarcity of luxury watches offensive. I'm very happy that Pagani Design exists. As long as they use their own logo Im thrilled with the quality for the money. I pulled the trigger on a Pagani "Darth Panda" recently. Cant wait till it arrives!

To be fair, the design has fallen out of copyright and is now in the public domain, so can and should be copied by anyone who wants to. I prefer to get the homage and put the balance of what I would have paid for the real thing into my pension. Which is partly why I retired at 55.

·

Do they design great watches, nope the Swiss designed them all! Do they make good watches? Yes

·

Chinese copies of original designs by major Swiss brands.

·

Believe it or not, just now I was on Pagani looking at the different designs. I found it because of my current love for the Submariner model. I love it

I was so surprised with Pagani that I ordered a Paul Newman Daytona yesterday

·

Hate Pagani design, BUT if it’s got special memories attached keep it for that

·

Pagani Design allows me to sport and have fun with an item I'll never be able to attain. ✌️😊

Yes, that’s great for your particular interest in building your own watches from available parts! I get it. I’ve wondered about building my own watch but the dials I see just don’t satisfy me. Being an artist and designer I have an intense need to make my own particular dial, which means real expense!

Go for it and have fun!

They make money from very obviously stealing the designs of popular watch brands eg Rolex. Then they use awful unreliable movements and cheap exploitative labour. Not a brand I’d ever want on my wrist

Ah yes. Awful unreliable movements produced by Seiko TMI that are tried and tested workhorses everyone has been recommending for the past 40 years. And exploitative labor in crispy clean factories with trained watchmakers in their 30s wearing white blouses and loupes. 😂

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. You're just parroting the usual anti-China bs about imaginary sweatshops to disguise plain racism. It couldn't be further from the truth when it comes to Chinese watchmaking. But I guess it's easier to preach racism than do a little online research about their factories. 🙄

Nice watch! We took a trip to Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos a couple months ago. Great trip. I took my Christopher Ward.

Big Pagani Design fan. I have Rolex and a Breitling, but some days I'm just feeling my Coke GMT

No thanks. Between the intellectual property theft and slave labor issues in China, I think it's best not to support those brands.

Not to mention that sweet microfiber

Lmao that is a bonus 😁

Hey John! Appreciate that comment. What are your thoughts on our cell phones, laptops, kids toys, T-shirts, socks, spatula, frying pans, spoon, fork, knives, screw drivers, and more importantly our watch straps?

·

My experience with the Pagani and Parnis and other cheap Chinese watches proved them to be junk. They look good at first. But they are NOT really water resistant, and they start to fall apart after a year or two of hard wear on the wrist. I don't care about the "homage" aspect. The Rolexes of the world deserve to be ripped off as they are ripping off consumers with their ridiculous price and availability schemes. What I object to is giving ANY business to the Chi-Coms - especially for this kind of junk. I got a Parnis and a Pagani as gifts some years back. The Pagani got water logged in a shallow swimming pool and the Parnis' stem literally fell off while just setting the time.

Junk. I threw them in the dustbin and learned my lesson.

·

I think they are great if they are worn as parody of Rolex. Etc.

But at this price point there are plenty of original designs or even actual vintage watches. Wouldnt you rather have one of those?

I prefer San Martin but only own and wear an original design from them (SN0116 GMT).

Pagani Design focuses more on mimicking bigger brands, which, as far as I am concerned, is OK insofar as a blatant copy (e.g., Rolex branding) is avoided; Pagani Design ⌚ abstain from such antics.

Many bigger brands literally mimic each other's designs so why is Pagani Design always under 🔥?

If I want to try on a double breasted suit, it may be unwise to grab for the Zegna at first.

I am not a fan of buying cheap because it means buying twice, but the cost of a Pagani Design ⌚ is a drop in the bucket compared to its inspirations.

Might not even be able to buy groceries for the price of a Pagani.

I like that model a lot but it reminds me to a lorier hydra or Hyperion. How much you have paid for it?

Quite expensive for a chinese watch... It's in the a lot of microbrands price territory

John doesn't possess any of these items because they are all the result of slave labor in China, obviously. 😂

Normally, it costs about $70-80 more.

The build quality is good, but what microbrand is selling ⌚ at those prices?

Plus, do they have the features of this ⌚?

I am not trying to convince you or anyone anything about this ⌚ apart from its great value, with which you are free to disagree.

Seiko NH34 GMT movement, beads of rice bracelet, ceramic bezel at $270?

Neither legendary nor lacking value.
