Did I make the wrong choice?? 1WC satire

I've written at length about my love and lust for the 126900 Rolex Air King. It's the watch on my wrist in the above photo. I'm wearing it every day for the #1wc from @Aurelian, but just this week I feel like I may have picked the wrong watch. #lies

You see a brand I don't follow at all, Bulova, has released a new version of a watch I've never heard of. They call it the Super Seville and as if I'm back in school, I'd like to compare and contrast that watch with my own.

You'll notice that both of these items are wrist watches. That in itself distinguishes them from other objects like salad bowls or lawn mowers.

Diving deeper, both of them have three hands displaying the hours minutes and seconds. Both of them have a scale around the dial against which to read the time. Both of them have a bezel, though the Bulova is showing off by being "fluted", inside of each there are small parts making it all work.

The main things that set these two apart is that one of them has a storied history, full of important people doing important things, the company has had innovations and experimentation and become a household name. The other is a Rolex.

The last difference is that one is gold, and surely that's better?

The Bulova is, without a doubt, “prettier” than the Rolex. So only you can say which is better - based on what you wanted in a watch.

If you can afford the Rolex, it would seem to me that you could also afford the Bulova - and since I belong to the church of “Just-One-More-Watch”, if it were me, I would own both.

Unless of course, your problem is deciding which to wear every day.

I think they are different enough that you could find a way to include them both in your wrist-time rotation.

Ah, thank you for your well considered response, but I should maybe make clear that this post is a tongue in cheek story posted as part of the 1 Watch Challenge that's going on right now under the hashtag #1wc
