Amazing dials but sadly not my taste
The blue dial is the stand out for me. Reminiscent of Harold Pinchbeck Orpheus. Very stylish. The others are a little busy for my tastes but can definitely see the appeal.
I would have to see more pictures in real lighting conditions because at first glance the dials and indices look cheap.

Iโm guessing some pre-launch reviews will be out on YouTube soon!
Interesting dials, but a bit too much visual noise for a simple dial design. Sometimes, less is more ๐
Yes. Definitely too much going on. Too many patterns on the dials, for my taste. But.... the blue one looks actually pretty amazing. Art deco. ๐
The blue Turquoise is my favorite, but Iโm not too thrilled about the lack of a bracelet.
Thatโs impressive, 7mm!
I guess itโll be quite similar to my old Nomos Orion. Funny, I actually didnโt like it being so thinโฆ Iโd feel the sharp edge of some part of the case wvery once in a while.
But this looks deliciousโฆ ๐คค
Looks great but that salmon seems hard to read. Wish it had heat-blued indices.
Nice, of those I think the middle bottom is the best looking version. As it looks like the dial has a sunburst effect, when the light catches it should get a cool sunburst. Would like the sunburst dial effect but with the colour of the last watch ๐ I would avoid the Tantalum Case (if it is real Tantalum) the real metal has a health and safety warning attached to it! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tantalum not supposed to be over exposed to it! (Check precautions). Wow https://zeloswatches.com/products/nova-37mm-tantalum on website says sandblasted..apparently it is dangerous to breathe in Tantalum!!!, not wishing to be a downer can be dangerous to life and health โ ๏ธ if highly exposed to Tantalum according to Wiki?!

Agree. The numerals kinda fade into the background ๐ซ

Woah, didnโt know about tantalum and its health risk! Thanks for sharing ๐จ
Sign me up.
Nice looking watches that do not identify as a Zelos unfortunately outside of the logo. Also not my style unfortunately.

Jon, I think someone should tell them, maybe you will get 50 free Tantalum Zelos! Perhaps they should PVA coat them? ...
Is this meant to compete with the Maen Manhattan Ultra Thin 39 mm?
Movement is the same: ETA 7001.
Price?
No it isn't. A whole different look. Other brands use the same movement. The Maen looks more like a AP oak design.

Tho its using the same movement, I would believe that each has its own unique DNA.
Price?
1999 usd for the tantalum
799 usd for aventurine and mosiac
749 usd for salmon and teal.
These are launch special prices

True.
I am just wondering if thinness will become a new trend.
If so, I would welcome the larger manufacturers to put their mechanisms with complications on a strict diet.
I really like the dual tone mop
Knee jerk: dials are beautiful as always, especially that mop. Case is impressively thin even with the domed crystal. I like small seconds on this style of watch. Not the biggest fan of handwind over automatic but it makes the most sense in this application. Slightly bummed to not get a bracelet like the og nova.
Concerns that Iโm looking for in the reviews that will come out this week: legibility in different lighting conditions particularly with the loss of lume compared to the og nova, loss of bracelet from og nova, band doesnโt quite feel right for it but I have one in mind that would work perfectly and I could use it on other watches, fully polished case very hard to get right without looking cheap.
Overall, Iโll probably buy the mop then put it on a different band and be happy with it as it should pair nicely with a grey suit and light blue tie. While I feel the og nova has more features and could be the better watch the only dial from that line that speaks to me is the linen and I still prefer the mop dial to it

Good thoughts!
I think when we narrow down โreadilyโ available movements of that thinness, most microbrands have only so few options to work with at a similar price point.
Just like how everyone went crazy with the nh34 ๐

Hm, not THAT bad...

Really looking forward to the reviews! Equally bummed about the lack of bracelet.
I can definitely see how your mop and attire pairing would really pop ๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฏ

Whether with third party movements for microbrands or mechanisms for regular and limited production for high horology, I welcome true innovation that compresses the architecture of the movements.
I think that Seiko is on track with MEMS parts, but certain materials may afford reduced thickness without compromising function.
Hopefully demand for mechanical โ will persist to witness such advances.
Wow. Had I not already preordered another dress watch, Iโd be sorely tempted by the mother of pearl dialed one.

I talked to John @jcwatch he assures me that Tantalum is quite commonly used but made into an alloy i.e. mixed with other metals (Think he mentioned Rolex and others). Whilst it is toxic if used on its own it is normally made into an alloy which should be more inert/ less toxic (didn't like the idea of it being sandblasted hopefully fully automated). Since he is a Zelos affictionardo take his word for it. On the Zelos website I didn't see any mention of an alloy but should be by the sound of it. At your own risk lol. Nice looking watches would be more inclined to go for stsinless!

Cool, thanks James! Appreciate the detailed explanation! One definitely wouldnโt want a health hazard as a daily gadget! ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
I really like the bottom left Watch. I might actually get that on lunch day.๐
