Any Sinn Lovers Here?

For some time, I have been admiring Sinn watches. For Sinn watch owners, what do you like/dislike about them? I just love their clean designs.

Ler me know!!๐Ÿ™ƒ

I enjoyed mine for a couple months before trading it. Solid piece, but not for me.

Its too hyped. I still have mine and If I could do it all over again, I wonโ€™t buy it. Itโ€™s a nice watch but not for $1K.

I love mine.

Wow! Really? So let's say if the watch was lower in price, you would buy it and keep it? What price would you feel comfortable paying for your Sinn?

Wow two responses here in the Sinn area and both on the negative side? That's unexpected! [EDIT: Took me a while to write all this up and I got interrupted part way through by a call, during which some additional responses came in.]

Are Sinn the value leaders they used to be? Arguably no. Their prices have creeped up (though of course, so have other brands) and microbrands and potentially other independent brands (CW, Formex, etc) or entry-level mainstream brands (Tissot/Hamilton come to mind) might offer better value these days.

Are Sinn innovators? Well, in recent history, arguably not really. They have some cool tech on some models. Tegimented steel is cool but others do hardness treatments/coatings and often for less. There's the capsule that captures any moisture that makes into some dive models but it's overkill for most and adds to servicing costs.

You could even argue that they are getting a bit stale design-wise. While other brands routinely introduce new colourways and sizes and options, Sinn do so less frequently.

With all the above said, what they do, they do very well! They produce tool watches that are well built. They avoid in-house movements that add cost and complexity and instead do a good job of regulating off-the-shelf Sellita movements of the Top grade variety.

Aesthetically, you're either going to love or hate the tool designs they offer. I'm in the love camp for at least a few models. I love the 556 family (I have owned and love a 556A RS for over 2 years), the 856/7 family, the 105s, and a handful of the U/T series. Others I'm not as crazy about, such as the 104 family (sorry, no offense it's just not my style) and some of the other dive watches.

Are they a good brand to buy? If the look and feel appeals to you and you enjoy the brand identity as an independent, German made (with Swiss movements) tool watch provider with over 60 years of watchmaking history and the cost is not prohibitive, then absolutely. They're not for everyone, but they could be for you!

I say $500 or less and thatโ€™s being generous.

I love mine I think the build quality is top notch! They are mostly tool watches and for the price of similar watches I think they're hard to beat. Look at the 903 vs the navitimer, it actually has a better water resistance rating and it's half the price.

Sinn is a great brand and in my opinion still leading around 1.000 $\โ‚ฌ. They are taking more care of their watches. I never bought a sinn that was running more than +- 4 seconds when sold. There is never any misaligned part or a bad printing like on many other beloved brands like seiko and tudor, that seem to just don't care about every single watch. Woth sinn you feel like you are buying something that every worker and employee of Sinn truly loves.

As a German I'm proud of that.

My 556i RS is a brilliant watch. Relatively affordable price, 38mm size is not too big or small, 200m water resistance, clean and easy to read dial, looks great on just about any strap.

Only downside I can think of is the bracelet is pretty heavy and hard to size to my wrist.

The clean design is something I love with my 105 utc.

I have three Sinn watches. They're well made, reliable and really durable. I love the design and legibility. Some of the date windows are too small if you have poor eyesight. I like the bracelet but most Sinn owners wish the clasp was better.

I have a U1 and and 857 UTC and love them both!

Love mine. Worth every penny. My first and favorite tool watch. Not too many watches you can manage to drop 4 times and it still keeps running well and also no scratches on it thanks to the tegimented steel.

I love my EZM3, especially no non-sense tool-ish design.

I donโ€™t like the bracelet and always wear it on NATO.
