"The beauty is in the details."
Beauty invites... it beckons... it draws you in.
Beauty calls... it entices you to look... to come closer.
To behold and appreciate such spectacular intricacy.
Beauty stirs your soul... to be amazed... to be in awe over simple, stunning grandeur.
But you'll have to draw near... make the effort... to peer more closely... to see more profoundly... its subtle simple splendor.
Go ahead now. Take your own #macro photos. Don't be content looking at your timepiece from 1-foot away. Zoom in. Be captivated by beauty.
Then share to others what you discover. 😉

Good shots, mate. 👍🏼 The Mido's polished dauphin hour hand looks great. And, the military font used for the "Helium Escape Valve" on that Epoch is 😎.

What is so wonderful about MJ watches...they are literally 3D+. There might be four layers on this dial.

Now who could dispute how cool that red GMT hand is?! 😎

Exactly! But if one doesn't look more closely in macro, so many beautiful, unique, and creative details won't be noticed!
Let's see the fine details of those 4 layers, mate! 🥳
Great shots! 👏🏻👏🏻

Oh, if you're using your mobile phone camera to take macro shots, one tip I have is to tap the screen on the particular part of the dial you want the camera to sharply focus on. Then when it's focus is set, zoom in then take the shot. 😉

Thanks I’m going to try that tomorrow
Love a macro shot 🙃

Ice hot, my man. 🔥 Macro shots are fun to take, right? The challenge is what makes it fun. @nooski's gallery has awesome macro photos. He said he uses his son's microscope to take them. I'm not sure how I'll be able to use his technique with my DSLR. But maybe with my phone camera that'll be possible. Let's see.

Oh, BTW I think the steps are reversed. Zoom in first then tap the screen so the camera sharpens the focus. Let me know if it works. Cheers and enjoy!

Will do mate. Cheers

Love this thread, Hakki - spreading the macro love 😜

What macro lens do you use?
And, how do you use your daughter's microscope? Using your mobile phone camera?
What a cool idea! Thanks I’ll check them out.

Well most of my macro shots were done using cheap extension tubes and basic cheapest Nikon 18-55mm lense. Not a long ago I bought second hand Nikkor Micro 40mm lense which is far easier to use but you can't have so much magnification.
The microscope can take pictures and even videos so I have material fo my humble YT channel. Looks like this (it's me on the picture)

Thanks for the info, bud. Yeah, I'm seriously contemplating on getting a macro extension tube as well. Looks worth it. For now, my Canon kit lens 18-55mm is doing fine. Man, that microscope is the real deal!![Image](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/emoji-datasource-apple/img/apple/64/1f973.png)

Extension tubes are great way for cheap macro shots. Don't bother with more expensive ones with ability for auto focus - you need to focus manualy. Also good tripod or some kind of very stable platform is needed. Because of very shallow depth of field you need to use high aperature numbers and long exposure times. Also sometimes it's hard to get enough light as you need to be veeeery close :-)
Oh no... manual... my eyes are not so reliable anymore!! 😛 So, if it's the extension, the auto focus is disabled? Oh man! Oh well, will still try. Yup, I use a tripod.
