B.W.D.W.

It's a Wednesday. A popular moniker for today is "hump day", as if there are no humps on the other days of the week...hehe. Plus, for WRUW, what kind of wrist shot can you contribute for #humpday?

Image

Only a handful of Crunchers I've seen have a sexually explicit watch to showcase hehehe...

Monday and Tuesday have the most popular monikers of Blue Mondays #bluemonday, and Speedy Tuesday #speedytuesday respectively. Friday is best known for Green Fridays #greenfridays #verdeviernes #greendialday, Field Watch Friday #fieldwatchfriday and Flieger Friday #fliegerfriday.

For Wednesdays though, one fun moniker created and popularized by @UnholiestJedi is Whimsical Wednesday #whimsicalwednesday. However, since I don't have any whimsical timepiece, I haven't been able to contribute yet. Perhaps a whimsical composition perhaps, Todd?

But then, there's White Dial Wednesday #whitedialwednesday. For sure I can contribute to this theme, as I love my #whitedial watches. So, here are some shots of my Seiko 5 SNKL41...

Beautiful shots! And what a watch!

I have a bunch - I love white dials, for their legibility. Here's one:

Thank you as always, my friend. Your watch is classy too. I'm not so familiar though with its brand. But, it has great 1930s vibes.

Thanks! It's a "marriage" watch, given to me by my wife. It's a vintage Molnija with a 3602 movement, a Russian copy of the Cortebert 620, with a Breguet hairspring.

Now that's one precious, priceless, timeless piece. Congrats and wear it in good health.

Whimsical Wednesday doesn't have to be limited to the watch. It can be how the watch was acquired, what you're doing or wearing that day or anything that makes you feel whimsical & not in a rut.

For me, a white dial would be a bit of a rut buster, as I only have one & it's not worn all that often.

Cheers!

WDW came early this week for me

The non-matching day/date wheels on these neo-vintage Seiko 5 is usually my biggest gripe with them, and I inevitably end up modding the dial to cover them but keep the great case shape. This is one of the rare times when I find it not too distracting and tolerable! 👍

Woot! Woot! Will try something next Wednesday and see what I come up with. Yeah, get more white dials, my friend. ;) They are strap monsters and will definitely keep you out of a rut.

Hehe, so despite the day/date wheel also being white, you still find it not too distracting, i.e. there's still a tinge of distraction? And, it's just tolerable? I thought you preferred a matching day/date wheel and dial? Hehe... Image

I prefer no day/date because it's a useless complication for my lifestyle. Especially on a dress watch like this. But sadly it's part of the 5 of Seiko 5 so it's inevitable. 😩

Oh ok, got that. On the other hand, it's quite useful for my lifestyle as the Seiko 5s seem to be meant for practical everyday wear, at work or leisure. I usually use this SNKL41 for work, date nights, and Sunday church service and leisure.
