[NWA] Finally, a Grand Seiko
I've been wanting something to complement my Explorer, and even asked the good people here in Watchcrunch on their thoughts about which watch to get between this and a Black Bay.
I finally pulled the trigger on this SBGW289 for the following reasons:
A Grand Seiko ties in with my connection to Japan (my wife's Japanese and maybe I can pass this down to our kid in the future)
It's a Grand Seiko with a beautiful textured dial and a classic case design (55th anniversary of the 44GS case)
It comes in a bracelet and has 100 meter water resistance
It has a thinner case due to it being a manual wind
It's below 38mm in diameter and a pretty common lug width of 18mm
It's basically perfect for me until GS releases a smaller, thinner spring drive.
Thanks to everyone that responded to my posts here (especially @Mr.Dee.Bater) that led me to finally decide in this one.

It wears bigger than the specs, maybe because flanks give it more presence. It's not as dainty as other smaller watches I've tried.
