commented onHow rapidly does shaking an auto actually wind it?·
These movements require 600-800 rotations per day to be fully wound.
Assuming you are swing your arms in an arc (when you say shaking), and you swing your arms around 90 deg (from horizontal to vertical), that means 180 deg (right and left) or 1/2 rotation. So in 20 seconds, you are probably swing around 20 times. That is only 10 full rotations. That is like 1% of the reserve.
It can get the watch moving, but the winding is negligible. In order for watch to be fully wound, need to wear the watch for hours.
My personal preference. I hate rubber straps. I prefer leather (not for water sport), nato, canvas, and bracelet.
Once I change band/strap, I continue to use that for months to year. So when I first change, it might feel odd. So take some time to get used to them.
I adjust my bracelet so it is slightly tight when my wrist is max size. So it will leave some mark, but not uncomfortable. Then when my wrist is minimum size, it is a bit loose. Then most of the time, my wrist is in between and comfortable.
If I adjust bracelet to be perfectly comfortable when my wrist is max size, then it will be too lose when wrist is minimum size.
Helm sent me a replacement unit. Unfortunately the replacement unit was even more misaligned. So I kept the original unit with slight misalignment.
There are couple factors. One is the bezel alignment. It is slightly off on copy 1 and worse on copy 2.
Then there is a manufacturing tolerance issue, in the dial and/or bezel itself. 6 o'clock is quite close. 3 and 9 o'clock a bit further off. And 12 o'clock is further off. This is common on both copies.

I used to live in SF. I drove by that area all the time, on O'Shaughnessy Blvd. Never thought about hiking there. Always went to peninsula, north bay, or east bay for hikes. Should have spend more time in neighborhood "backyard".
I just received my Vanuatu Ti. And the bezel is misaligned. Not the worst, but noticeable. I have contacted Matt at Helm. Waiting for response.
TBD what I plan to do. Because I would not want to take action and then end up with worse misaligned unit.
Looking at the photos here, I also see many appear to have misaligned bezels. But photos can be misleading, as phone camera is off-centered. For those who have Vanuatu Ti, does your unit have misaligned bezels, regardless of whether it bothers you or not?
I have cousins similar to your pair. Seiko Land Tortoise and Orient Kamasu in blue.
Steeldive is great value. Downside is too much homage. I get it. Seiko Turtles are no longer budget. I had to go with Land version: Tortoise instead of Turtle.
