NWA: The Watchdives Take On You Know What

First up - yep, yet another AliExpress watch purchased during the latest special. I don't feel like I'll ever be in a position to want to spend "real money" on a "proper" watch, so for me a small collection of cheaper watches continues to fit the bill.

I saw this reviewed well on a couple of YouTube channels so decided to bite the bullet as the best option for those of us without money or scruples.

It came in a hard case along with a couple of handy tools. If only I'd had some foresight I could have saved a few bucks on the other ones I purchased a couple of months back :-)

First sighting. In general it's a great quality piece for the price. The hands all line up nicely which is good as I have seen some people complain the chronograph seconds doesn't always play well on the VK63 movement. We will see how it goes with some more use.

It sits well on my 7 1/4" wrist. My only initial complaint is that it is a bit flat, and could use a little more turndown on the lugs. But I think that works to its advantage in this situation as the corners of the lugs are a little sharp but I don't feel them because of the clearance.

And because I'm more of a leather strap guy, along with still not having got the hang of resizing my bands, I got this cheap rally style strap to go with it. I don't consider my wrist all that big, but once again I find what seems to be the common available strap length only just fitting. I do have a couple of holes left, but the floating loop is basically pressed right up against the fixed one with just the point sticking out. So no margin for error. I must continue to lay off the pies.

One other minor issue is that I've spent the last couple of weeks with my Panzera, and moving down from a 45mm case and a thick 24mm strap to this 40/20 means my eyes have to adjust to not seeing this as small. Because I guess it isn't. But it does have one advantage in that respect:

I'm wearing a relaxed fit work shirt here, but it pretty easily slipped over the Watchdives whereas the extra bulk of the Panzera causes the sleave to rest up against it unless I pull it over. I do have smaller watches which could also be considered dressier, but it's nice to have yet another option when less informally dressed.

Overall, very happy with my first few hours of ownership 😀 I've got my eye on a few more watches for the next sales. This one is number 9 in the collection so maybe once I've hit 12 and filled my two boxes it will be enough.

But as the never-ending discussion with my good wife goes:

"You don't need another watch."

"I know I don't need another watch... but I want another watch!"

See you all next time 👌

The watch dives speedy is the best of the bunch of copies,a little bit thick but it looks killer on the leather strap u have it on 👍

Looks good

Great looking watch, watchdives are making some cracking homages, I have a few of their watches and they are very nice 👍

·

The case finishing is....rough. If you want a really good speedy lookalike with the VK63, look at the Pagani Design PD-1701. Much thinner and case finishing is WAY nicer.

I am glad you had a good experience. I ordered the white face version when it was released and it came damaged and the tachometer hand wasn’t aligned. Watchdives told me it is within tolerance which the Pagani is dead set on 12 that I have and I see yours is also pretty much on the 12. I wanted to love ir but it is going back today. Hopefully watchdives will provide me the full refund as they have not been nice about the return.
