Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
An old boss of mine always had on a heavy hitter from Rolex and got me hooked on the hobby.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Hamilton Khaki Field Watch that I bought in the PX and wore during Army basic training.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
The Hamilton. I failed my first marksmanship attempts and was going to have to go back and start Basic Training over. I had one last chance and I had to use my watch to steady my breathing but I’m right handed so I had to wear my watch on my right hand to count the seconds between shots. I ended up knocking down 39 out of 40 targets and still had one bullet left in the magazine.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Buy what YOU like.
