The simplicity of your first shot evokes one of the key tenets of Wabi Sabi and how it celebrates humble tranquility.
I also like your interpretation of the passing of time with your second shot
Thanks, John it has elements for sure but due to not having enough light this morning, I couldnโt quite get the shot I wanted and so a more traditional image. I will save that idea for another brighter day ๐
My โpendulum clockโ shots were very fun to do.

I don't know, Trevor.. I kind of liked the simplicity of your first shot. I fear we may be getting away from the humble concepts of Wabi-S by trying too hard.. myself included. I'm going to give this some thought for next week.
An open timed shutter makes for great experimentation. I remember trying this technique some years ago when I tried writing in the dead of night with a torch and an open shutter. Great fun ๐
This is my best slow response I could come up withโฆ
So beautiful. I wonder how happy they are?
I'll bet they have an inner calm. We have an electric storm going on at the moment and my phone signal is really poor .. so no gif replies from me ๐
Thank you, James. Itโs a process and Iโm no expert. Finding joy/beauty in the simple and unconventional is a great way at looking at things (in my humble opinion). Have a wonderful day too ๐ค๐ซก
Did you notice? The one on the right is carrying her teaโฆ I really like that detail โบ
I wasnโt sure what was being held but youโre right. I love the care and the historyโฆ Imagine having a love like that. I guess this was also what compelled you to take the photo?
I asked my wife to take a picture because I was busy eating ๐so you spotted correctly.

In that moment in time my wife work was on a old people care centre. So old people and their needs were very present in our lives. Seeing how well fit and healthy were the ols peopin China alwas a great lesson. That was what drove me to take that photo really.

Will do. As soon as I get out trying a few out ill be looking for this one.
I like that last picture. However, seeing this one apart I wouldnโt have guessed it was yours: no bokeh๐
It made me remember a photo I took on a trip through China lots of years ago:

Thatโs a beauty of a photograph. Both lost in each other. No phone. No distractions. Thatโs wabi sabi.
