Nice watch, both ways.
Consider a rubberized, leather watch strap. I bought this cheap one for work and looks way better than the $15 price suggests.

To the best of my knowledge, Breitling depreciate like a rock. They are overpriced compared to many competitors. If you love a model, I say go for it, but on the grey market so someone else takes the financial hit.
Re: sales tactics. I prefer the polite, knowledgeable and kind helpfulness I experienced when I bought my Grand Seiko. I dress very casually (it’s a mountain girl thing) and probably didn’t look like I could afford a GS. But the nice salesman at the AD made a sale within 15 minutes. Wore the Shunbun out of the store and everyday on my vacation.
Just gorgeous. I would treat this epic watch to a Veblenist in leather.

Or you could do a 2-piece rubber:
the possibilities are endless! Such an epic watch needs more than one strap for his wardrobe, imo. Please post what you pick out.
