Wabi sabi is a Japanese aesthetic philosophy that embraces the beauty of imperfection, impermanence and mindfulness. It is a way of seeing the world that values simplicity, authenticity and naturalness over perfection, artificiality and complexity.
My balanced stones reminds us that there are no straight lines in nature and the act of balancing was a truly mindful experience
On top of all that, my Camy Beater watch is about as Wabi Sabi as a watch can get. I don't think there is a single area on it that is not faded, scratched or chipped.
As most of you know, I am travelling at the moment, so I cheated and took my 'balanced stones' shot a few days ago, but here is a bonus crappy Wabi Sabi shot from this morning before I get on the road.

John, that’s an amazing balancing act you pulled off there. Stones, despite all their strength will wither away eventually with time. Just not today under Camy Beater’s watch. It’s got a bit of Sisyphus energy in its thoughtful leaning.
