Junghans l Max Bill Chronoscope

Looking at this watch from Junghans. Anyone has good experience with this brand and watch? If so, please feel free to share your experience and feedback. Would love hear your opinion/tips/advise. Much appreciated.

It is a stunning looking watch. Looks great in watch box, even better in photos. That said, I did not like how inexpensive it felt and how loud the rotor was. Ultimately traded it in for something else.

I’ve had nothing but positive experience with Junghans and I’ve owned 4 and still have 2. And only two because I’m refining my collection. That’s a beautiful watch. If you’re just barely holding back, be free! Buy it!

Hmmm. What a misfortune! I’ve not had that experience. I do have a loud-rotor watch, though - my Junkers. I’ve considered asking my local watchmaker to remove the damned thing. I enjoy the watch too much otherwise so I won’t sell it.

I have 6 junghans watches. They are quality made and I love the aesthetics. No issues whatsoever.

Have a few of their pieces. I like them a lot and feel like they offer a great value for the price.

I own a Max Bill Bauhaus and I have no complaints regarding the build or quality. The style is more of a personal preference, but it's one that I happen to like - a lot.

However the Chronoscope is a different beast and you really need to be committed to Bauhaus ideas of streamlining designs to buy one since Junghans decided to remove the second's hand in order to preserve the design's symmetry.

No experience but I just love the design. Looks great except I would go for a leather strap intstead of a bracelet. German machine 👌🏾

I would recommend handling this piece first before making any purchase decisions. See if the rotor wobble bothers you or if you can live with it.

I found it very apparent and it put me off completely from the purchase of this watch. The movement is based on a Valjoux 7750 with unidirectional winding. This doesn’t tend to be an issue in chunkier chronographs, as they are thick and have heavy cases and bracelets and you don’t tend to realize of the wobble. But the case and crystal on the Chronoscope are so light that any wobble comes immediately through.

Plain and simple looking dials. Thanks

I own it. I fell in love with the design, specs, etc. That "white" (actually a bright metallic silver) is gorgeous. A timeless classic.

BUT.

I hardly ever wear it. That's because it wears bigger than the specs would suggest. The watch has practically no bezel and so it's all dial on the wrist. I realized later that I prefer smaller watches and so I've decided to sell mine (and then maybe get the 34mm three-hander version).

Hope that helps!

That makes sense. White dial usually wear bigger on most wrists than black dial and other dials. Thanks for sharing!
