Armitron's Challenge to GShock's Throne

GShock's pole position is being finally challenged in the form of Armitron Analog-Digital Chronograph model 20/5372. 'Dem fighting words, say some.

My king of GShocks currently is the GD-350GB, the mega-popular alarm buzzing beauty. Comparable in sizing and a all-out, barn-burner of a battle when comparing the two. The GD-350GB wins though on functionality but the design and looks of the Armitron keeps it close.

Sizing for the Armitron model 20/5372 is 50mm at the width of the crown, replete with crown guards to protect the analog functions and movement of the handset. Weighs in at 77 grams, thickness of 16mm, and 44mm wide at the bezel. To hit even closer to the Casio Gods and it's Mount Rushmore of models, dare we mention the famed Casioak. Well, this ani-digi runs circles around the Casioak and yes you can see the digital display where the Casioak's you cannot. Already a huge advantage to the Armi'. I get it, there's a bit of energy in this new entrant, and it comes with a tinge of hyperbole but tall tales aside, there is finally a decent contender to the GShock throne.

Tough and good for workouts, and even a round of golf. Now, can it help me with close putts?

Pretty nice. The dial isn't exactly what I like (I prefer the single smaller digital display at the top or bottom) but the case shape is way nicer than most g shocks! And the strap that can wrap properly looks way better too!
