I prefer solid case back in most cases (pun intended). If it's a stunning movement, then I accept an open case back.

I would go preowned. I went with a guy locally who sells omega. Had a first generation aqua terra for £2700, an 1861 Speedy for £3800, and a Bond Seamaster for £1950

Modern omega is thick, expensive and clunky (most of them at least)
