Which watch do you love, but will never buy? And why?

I'm a devout Omega fan. That said, and in my attempt to round out my 'proper' mix of Omega models, the Constellation Pie Pan is just that watch for me.

I love everything about it. Except (!) its diminutive case size. 34, 35mm? Really? It drives me nuts. Being vintage, a pie pan 'Jumbo' case size at 38mm would've been very acceptable. So close, but no cigar.

For reference, on the left, I have one 34mm watch. It was bought brand new in 1987. Then a 38mm Jumbo on the right. Big difference!

·

Absolutely agree. Big Omega fan, but anything below 38 is just too small for me. Damn shame, love the designs.

·

I purchased a very similar Concord in 1989, mine was quartz, bought off the brand agent when he was visiting the ad owned by a friend, it was a good looking watch but a little small for my 8 inch wrist, convinced my wife to take possession but she prefers at least 36mm herself. Finally I traded with a seller who was moving to Florida. I appreciate a lot of fellas here on the Crunch are massive fans of smaller cases just as there are a lot of guys who wear larger watches.

The Concord is / was a beautiful watch. Back then, it was also kind of a style thing too. I kept it all these years because it is so 'pretty.' Just too small.

Size matters? No, more like the appropriate fit. I wouldn't look good in a Medium size t-shirt either.

For me Ive loved from afar: AP royal oak for many reasons but will never be able to afford one.

·

Any AP for me would be from their Code 11.59 collection. I know the Oaks are the rage, but they just never were for me.

Factoring everything though, I'd never see myself dropping $50K on a watch. No matter how much I love it.

IWC Big Pilot 46 mm, Ref 5002, for me the coolest watch on the planet.....why I probably never buy one, it´s slightly too big for my wrist.

·

I have a 6.3 inch wrist so 34mm works for me. I wear an Omega Speedmaster just about everyday, but it’s 48 mm lug-to-lug measurement isn’t a problem because it doesn’t hang off the side of my wrist like some 42mm watches do. Great pair of watches.

I love the numbered dial. Cool strap too. Nice package! Too bad it doesn't fit you well.

I'm glad I don't have the smaller wrists...as I'd probably have a dozen or so Constellation Pie Pans. 🙄

A Patek Calavatra in silver with small seconds like the 5196G. Beautiful in every way.

I could buy it but can never justify it. Maybe when I retire in another 20 years…

What's the full model name of the Omega?

·

I love vintage Omega's but they are small in my eight inch (approximately 20 cm) in circumference. I still buy them and wear them with all their charm.

Such a classy watches! 😍

Yes, yes they are. But, for my wrist, I much prefer a 42mm '+'. I'm a hair under an 8" wrist size.

Agree on the pie pan, exceptional watch, wish they made it in bigger size. What's the model of the Omega 38mm ?

I've looked at the Globemaster. Their 'newest' Pie Pan variation. But I don't like fluted bezels, either.

Now, a completely retro-styled new Pie Pan at 42mm? Uh, yeah. I'd be all over that!!!

My 38mm, shown in the pic, is called a Jumbo. The only reference on it, on the case back says, 102072. I've never had the case back off of it.

I'll look it up as I have been really wanting a vintage omega in a bigger size, love this one :)

If they do make a pie pan in 40mm or over.... I'm done with collecting that'd be it 😂

The Bel Canto is a work of art, easily one of the coolest watch in its price bracket.

But I don't want watches to sound unless I set a timer or an alarm, so the effect is wasted on me.
