So, where are my Omega vintage watch experts?

Here are four watches I've collected along the way. Usually, they were purchased simply for their excellent condition & appearance.

They're simply not getting the wrist time they're due. So, I'm curious as to exactly what they are and what to do with them.

???

From left to right:

  • A '40's Jumbo. (Has 102072 stamped on the case back)

  • My birthyear (1957) Hamilton.

  • A '60's Seamaster Day / Date.

  • And the last one I have the least info on. Bought it for my wife. Runs, but should be serviced. '60's? Does have an original Omega bracelet on it.

I like the case shape on that day/date, more Datejust-y than vintage Seamasters usually are.

Looks like your birth year watch is a Hamilton, not Bulova.

I'm not familiar with vintage Seamasters having a salmon dial so that may be a re-dial.

In any event, you're best bet for finding a home for them would be ebay in my experience. Best of luck!

Thank you on the correction. Silly mistake. I'll fix it.

This 166.032 from 1968, is on sale on C24. Doesn’t seem to far off from yours. Can’t see the text on yours. Maybe yours is chronometer certified and therefore have another reference. Some have two references (transitional ref). You will find the reference and serial number if you (or your watchmaker) open up the caseback.

My 166.028 (no day) is from 1965.

Visited Omega Forum. Won't bother ever doing that again. Hard to negotiate through it, poorly structured site.

And I sent the same picture and comment / question over there. An 'administrator' jumps in and tells me I need 200 posts before I can sell there. Then, not being done there, he proceeds on a bit of a rant about used watches piling up and other random nonsense.

Actually, he sounded bitter. Probably due to their flailing website. Again, never again.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. I’ve had good experiences mostly as a lurker and posting every once in a while. There are knowledgeable folks there, but that admin wasn’t helping obviously.

No worries!

Think of it as more of a 'public service' announcement. 😉

Not an administrator, but someone did email me from there today. Almost like he was covering the guy's ass. I thanked him for trying.

I'm pretty darn happy right here. Differences of opinion (imagine that) once in a while. But otherwise, good quality folks.
