New Black Omega AT - pictures & first impression of comfort setting clasp!

Picked this up this 38mm edition yesterday from my Omega Boutique & couldn’t be happier. Had a great experience (see my last post) and wanted to share some more photos… especially showing their new clasp & how to adjust it.

Image

Dial: I wore this out today & love the new dial… extremely legible & with the anti-reflective treatment on both sides of the crystal, you can easily read the time at sharp angles. There’s a beautiful open case back displaying the 8800 calibre too.

With their upgraded bracelet from some of their older AT models, you can get a perfect fit that is extremely comfortable (each link is ~5mm).

Butterfly clasp with comfort setting: this gives an extra 2mm of room for when your wrist swells. For me, this is perfect as my wrist doesn’t swell a very significant amount (known from experience with my BB54 T-fit clasp) & this would be enough to compensate for a while for comfort. Others might need more wiggle room, however. You can see it expanded in the photo…it’s subtle & doesn’t bother me personally!

Image

“S” and “L” signify long & short. If the small dot on the left is by the L, this means it is in the expanded (longer) position. If the small dot on the right is aligned with the S (see photo below), then it is in the short (regular) position. The small button on the left of the “L” is what you press when toggling between the two. I found it very easy to do!

Anyways, I hope this helped a little & quenched some of your curiosity. Overall, I’m very pleased as I find it a versatile piece!

Nice! I was just wondering because I saw you’re also in SRQ. 😄

I’ve been meaning to check the one at IP. I heard it’s nice up there.

Heck, yeah. SRQ FTW! Just wish all the out-of-towners would go away. I hate trying to find a parking spot at the beach anymore. What happened to tourist season? 😆

Looks fantastic! 😀Thanks for posting detailed photos, great to see the new micro adjust clasp!

·

Yup… STUNNING!!!! Ive had my AT shades for over a year and its really the only watch i wear, say bye bye to your other watches

·

Perfect 👌

I really love it

·

Looks excellent and I'm really intrigued but the comfort clasp...

·

That looks like a fantastic watch which I’d love to own.

On the subject of the ‘comfort clasp’. There has been so much discussion on this the you’d think that Omega had just invented the wheel. Formex have had a 4/5mm on the fly extension to their butterfly clasp for a number of years.

Finally, they fix the Aquaterra.....now if they can only fix their pricing.

Thanks for posting

I know right they over adjusted for world wide inflation. like the new AT black costs 6100$ and last years aqua terra shades were 6600$ so maybe they are lowering it or stabilizing hehehe.

·

Congratulations Logan. That is one beautiful 😍 black AT!!

·

Thanks for posting!!

·

Does the bracelet taper?

·

Beautiful. I saw and tried on the AT38 in green in London but they did not have one on a bracelet. Thanks for sharing your insights.

·

Used to own the first generation black dial 39mm...I paid £2700 only last year and it was gorgeous. To be honest, I feel the value is in older omega, but your watch is stunning

Congrats on your new acquisition!!

but I was not expecting the microadjust to have that...gap...Damn shame.

·

Always love the AT but the quick adjust was the thing I always missed but damn that’s a game changer

·

Great review 🍻Congrats

·

Nice

·

I feel like it lost one of the trademark features of the AT but I still love it! Quite similar now to the old version of the Black Bay 36/41 with its gloss black dial.

·

Congratulations that’s a stunner 😍 enjoy 😊

·

Love it. Hopefully the bracelet fits other AT models, and is able to be ordered. I would love to have one.

Don’t quote me on it, but I believe they will be releasing it in the future to purchase a la carte
