Fratello: Don't Let Money Stop You (or not dismissing things you can't afford)

Just know that nearly every part down to the screws and gears are made in house and that even if you can't see it that there is some wonderful decoration on that movement, some of it even hand done which is amazing that they do this even for their entry level pieces.

I will say that quick release spring bars aren't necessarily bad (I see this sentiment a lot but the logic doesn't quite track--watch brands aren't going to be pushing a product designed to fail on their high end watches and strap brands would quickly get a bad name if watches kept falling to the ground) . . . but not all spring bars or straps (quick release or not) are created equal. I always give a gentle tug and shake on my straps before putting them on to ensure fit/secureness. Are normal spring bars safer? Perhaps. But I wouldn't automatically say quick release is unsafe--tens of thousands (hundreds of thousands?) of quick release spring bars are out there and operating with zero issue. Seems like this case was mostly an issue of bad fit and perhaps bad quality control to begin with sadly!

You can be one of those that starts bending the definition of what counts or doesn't count for their collection and call your G-Shock an honorary +1 or something haha.
"I only have 6 watches . . . + 25 others that don't count."

The only Rolex I was only ever interested was the Milgauss in terms of being a bit different and weird . . . and it's way to chunky and big for me. Overall, I just don't like traditional looking tool watches and much of the brand is pretty safe in terms of design/aesthetic . . . I mean they kind of help invent and commercialize safe and classic . . . and I don't like those designs. I guess I respect the history and what they've been/who they are . . . I say this logically . . . but emotionally I don't give a shit.
I will say that their vintage pieces are for more interesting to me . . . 50s, 60s, 70s.

Formex is way more interesting on all fronts.
