Tudor QC 😳🤯

Every pic of a BB54 (which I’m seriously considering) appears to have the 12 o’clock marker and the shield misaligned…

Not to mention the lume pip issues…

Seriously… WTF… anyone that has one care to comment/ share?

This image was taken off a Hodonkey sale page https://shop.hodinkee.com/products/tudor-heritage-black-bay-fifty-four-79000-10-10-tud-b2ce8q

Edit: this blew up 😂😂

For those who want… go have a look at all these listings… you can see how much of an issue this is in the last 2 ish years… even the new monochrome is misaligned… and at least one of the burgundy listings… https://subdial.com/buy?q=tudor

Edit 2: no seriously … it’s really bad. Look at image 3. 54 on bracelet misaligned. 54 on rubber spot on. You don’t even have to zoom to see it. Obvious when you know. Both images from subdial link. See for yourself.

A rip off brand. Do they align everything at least? 😂

Looks aligned to me. And if there is a variance, its significance is insignificant.

·

Maybe buy one in person so you can check everything.

Can you not see the centre point of the shield is offset to the bottom of the marker? Seriously?

Lol you took this picture? Or..

·

That's a good eye for details, spotting that.

I guess that it can't be unseen, so it's going to be an issue.

I had to check my Pelagos 39 after seeing that, and thankfully it's spot on.

Here’s a vintage Tudor Sub for comparison 😂

Perfection is overrated. Have you handled one in the flesh and noticed it with the naked eye? If no, then don't worry.

Gorgeous pics mate, lovely.

But that watch has the same issue no?! To my eye at least , you have the originals

·

you are not imagining. misaligned hour markers in my pelagos some years ago, definitely real. posted as you in another forum but was burned alive daring to criticize tudor, been accused of imagining etc

Yes. This is one, on my wrist. Same issue.

That miniscule variance even under high magnification is an issue? Seriously?

·
TheTimeIsMeow

The 12 is raised and the logo is not. The photo is taken at a slight angle so you are looking at the alignment wrong.

I’m not. Go look at the other links in the post. All taken exactly same position.

That Tudor Logo is slightly off but the rest seems good 😅

·

Blimey, that's picky.

Wouldn't bother me one iota.

·

It's not a flaw, it's a feature lol

·

The crown on my rolex isnt lined up on the 12 marker either 🥲

·

Wait until you find out about the mess they made with the depth rating typography:

Image

200m :660 ft

No space after “200“, weird space before dots, no space after dots, space after “660“.

I really want to love the BB54, I was more than once close buying it, but all of those QC issues are adding up and I think it’s too much for the asked price. 😒

Believe it or not I did spot that but after all the Tudor bros piled in I decided to not post that haha

It’s even worse on the one I showed.. the zeros in the 200 aren’t level with the rest of the text 🫣

Whaaaaaaaaaaaat. Now that’s a real problem 😂🫣

I dunno man… I do appreciate what you are saying but unlikely to be the case. Look at the links I provided above. You can see exactly the same photo angles some have it, some don’t. So unlikely to be the crystal.

If that's the case, I'm. quite disappointed.

I looked at the Tudor website, even the rendering in the page looks off. Still feel it's an angle thing

And you believed?

All parts are machine made, but vast majority of the watch all watch’s have to be hand assembled. Cars use robots for certain things but engines are hand built, I think that’s the point that is getting lost in all this. Just like cars there are cheaper cars like watches and they function but the tolerances are loser, materials are cheaper etc. and just as you move up the line in watches as in cars etc the materials become better, tolerances become tighter, engineering gets better. I spent 21 years in the Army your basic grunt is the low end of the combat spectrum and your special forces are the tip of the spear in equipment, training, money invested etc. yes they both pull a trigger but that’s were similarities stop. Same goes for watches. I get what you are saying but it’s much more than that. They are both watches that do the same things yes but it stops there when it comes to the rest.

Yeah get that. Still, for a 4K watch it’s unacceptable 😂

All relative to the income lol 😂

It’s really not. It’s relative to the price and supposed quality of the brand.

These issues highlighted in this thread are something you would expect and accept from a watch costing 10x less.

If a person was to imply that someone would only find this level of QC unacceptable if they have lesser income than someone who might be so wealthy they don’t care , then that’s A) pretty arrogant and B) foolish of them.
