SOTC - New to the group! First Post

3 years ago I got the call to get my first “nice” watch ever (after being on a 2 year wait list) - the OP Silver 41mm. It was love at first sight.

After a year and a half with the watch I decided I wanted to build the collection out and have been adding pieces bit by bit as I learn more about this hobby and world.

I currently have the blue dial Tudor BB Inter on order, a rubber strap I’ve been trying to order for the Omega and am on several wait lists for a Daytona and/or gmt.

Everything has been a blast to learn - from horolgy to the industry to YouTubers has been a never ending rabbit trail of insights and information.

I am a total newbie and have enjoyed every minute of it. Love the community and excited to continue to grow my knowledge, love and collection! As a former and current coffee hobbyist I am well versed in obsessions and my kids are already used to dads “watch videos” 🤣

Would love to hear suggestions on where to pivot for next watches. I’d love a dress watch and have been looking at Longines, Omega and Cartier but am super open to learning about new brands or approaches/thoughts to finding a great dress watch.

Welcome to the Crunch! I'm sure you're gonna love it here. There are some really nice albeit opinionated members.

Judging purely on your watches in the photo, you can probably afford another trinity. Why not check out Vacheron Constantin Patrimony? Maybe the moonphase one? Just my two cents.

Welcome. Baume & Mercier would be worth a look

Thank you for the warm welcome! I’m heading to Boston next week and definitely plan to check out the Vacheron store! That is a gorgeous watch and suggestion thanks. 🙏🏽 I just have to weigh the cost against my wife ending my life with my recent mid life splurge purchases 🤣🤣🤣

Very cool brand I’ve not heard of yet, thank you! Quick Look at the catalogue is super solid!

Welcome to the community! And I love your collection😍

Assuming we share similar tastes (I love all the watches in your collection), here are some of the dress watches that I either own or have tried on and liked a lot;

Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso - I own one (Classic Duoface, medium)

Vacheron Constantin Traditionnalle Hand-winding rose gold and green dial - absolutely beautiful

A. Lange and Sohne Saxonia Ultra Thin rose gold - very classical but looks nice when dressed down too

ALS Lange 1 - I love the asymmetry. An icon.

Cartier Santos de Cartier - if you prefer dressier watch that is a bit more robust and with bracelet - I own one (brown dial, medium)

Enjoy the hunt🍻

Welcome Mani. Great first post and love your collection. My favorite dress watches are:

. Breguet 7147 enamel dial.

. Calatrava 6119 white dial.

. Rolex new 1908.

. Carter Santos Dumont xl (problem free hopefully)

Great collection. Welcome to the club! If you are looking for suggestions, I'd suggest looking at a few of these brands for dress watches:

  • Chopard

  • Glashütte Original

  • JLC

  • Parmigiani Fleurier

Welcome! Nice collection. Looks like you index on the icons and you could use something iconic that also breaks the pattern a little bit. Still, it has to respect the clean shapes and angles of your current watches.

I think your collection screams for a gold Cartier Santos. 🙂

·

Wow! That is one hell of a collection. Welcome! 👍🏻

·

Great collection, welcome!

How come you chose BB Pro on a hybrid strap and all of your other watches are on metal bracelets?

·

Really nice collection 👍

I think cartier tank would fit in nicely.

·

Welcome! Very nice collection.

·

Awesome collection of some heavy hitters! Welcome to Watch Crunch 👍

·

@PrznSoFlo what a great collection! I’m considering purchasing the OP 36mm with this silver dial but it’s hard to find content about it on YouTube/Instagram. How does the dial look like under normal light? I love how vintage it looks with the gold accents, debating between the silver and the black dial at the moment

·

Welcome!

Great collection there!

A 5711 and 3 Rolexes is a newbie? 🤣😆

Welcome to the party mate!

That is an interesting collection!

A Moonwatch would fit like a bug in a rug in that watchbox.

A german watch would also complete that collection very well.

You cannot go wrong with Breguet for a dress watch.

Let us know what you decide! Cheers

Thank you for the welcome and suggestions! Will definitely follow up with what I go with in a future post!

That’s pretty sweet!

Great collection. I know it is not a dress watch but I think you should perhaps consider an Omega Speedmaster. Now that is a proper icon!

I’m on a list for the white dial speedmaster. Haven’t decided if I will accept it if I get the call - I don’t want to feel like I compromised for the Daytona I want but don’t want to pay more than retail for.

I didn’t love the weight of the BB pro on the bracelet, as it was pretty top heavy and made my wrist sore. Also didn’t love the faux rivets. Tried a bark and jack nato, but wanted to stay OEM. The hybrid strap was love at first wear.

I immediately ordered a rubber strap for my Omega seamaster!

Nice, understood. And are you satisfied with the quality of hybrid strap, would you recommand it?

Also I just checked out your collection. You weren’t kidding - we have a very similar taste in watches! I even picked out the exact same Reverso but in a black strap!

For sure😁 Explorer 1, a GS, a two-tone Rolex are all on my wish list 😊

Reverso, while having a very classical look, it dresses down surprisingly well 👍 Enjoy it in good health 😊
