It all seems kind of arbitrary and dishonest.
I would 100% prefer total honesty. “Our watches are reserved for local clientele”
But then I wish my AD was the same way if that was the case. Instead I keep getting the push to spend on PM or other items to get the chance to buy at retail.
How much do I have to spend to be considered a good customer?
Perhaps it is the south Florida market and I am the small fish in the pond.
It just seems wild that it at least appears spending thousands gets you nothing - even from your local AD.
Maybe I need to shift strategy and share why I want a specific watch. It seems to be how much your AD is willing to go to bat for you.
Thanks man! First world problems for sure. Hopefully we can find a good job fit and introduce you to the world of these problems 🙏🏽 Hope you’re doing great man! Will call you once I’m back in FL.
Probably some combo of 1, 2 and 3.
I will say, I do generally enjoy how robust Rolexes have been compared to other watches at similar price points, and no question - in my limited experience, I find the Rolex bracelets to be superb and the best taper, clasp, comfort.
That being said, I really only want the stainless models, and I only want to pay retail.
You’re spot on - better watches exist. Both from a value proposition and horological view.
What can I say, the heart wants what the heart wants. 🤷
