Follow up. I stopped by the Longs Patek today to get some jewelry for my wife. The staff was phenomenal. We were able to find exactly what we were looking for and everyone was incredibly kind, personable and helpful.
The location was beautiful + immaculate, and to make things even better on this visit they let me try on a couple Pateks. 😍
In retrospect - I am glad I had this experience and I was probably harsh in my original critique of Longs. I think my actual critique is of Rolex and the environment I feel they’ve created for ADs to exist within.
No doubt my impatience hurts me in the long run as I’ve shopped around.
If I had a chance to do it all over again - would I have done it differently? Maybe, maybe not.
But fair enough. If the end game was Batgirl, Batman, Pepsi, Daytona, etc. - then all purchases in the same spot would have been the best strategy.
On a positive, I have a collection I love, and was able to acquire it relatively quickly.
Didn’t mean for my comment to come off as dismissive.
I am actually appreciative of the engagement. 🙏🏽
Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge and insight and experience.
Hoping for a positive outcome in the next couple months. 😁
I don’t believe Rolex is seriously monitoring the grey market and holding ADs accountable.
My sense is that there is a lot of under the table dealings afoot here.
