Decisions, decisions, decisions

Let us say, hypothetically, you've decided to add the Christoper Ward C1 Bell Canto to your collection. From the current catalog, what color do you chose? Comment for strap color or bracelet.

I bought the black dial due to these newer colours not being available at the time. Were I ordering today, I think I'd go Cielo or Rosa, the purple dial is just a bit too much for me.

The Bel Canto is quite an extravagant watch, so for me a muted colour doesn’t really fit

·

I have the viola with matching strap on order. 😀

·

I have a black but if anyone with a Viola is after a swap - please message me 😀

·

Never been all that hot on these. I would probably get the blue

·

All beautiful, but purple has a special place on my palette.

·

I ordered light blue although if I had my choice I would have gone for the dark blue. BUT do you know that they make a bunch of "special edition" or whatever versions with much sexier dials? I have seen one with frosted goldish dial that IMHO beats everything from the standard catalog. Two, the purchasing experience has been less than ideal. So I have decided to pass my watch toba friend. Don't want to keep it...

Would go with the violet simply because the watch is such an outlier anyway. Why not go all the way?!!

The following opinion is 100% speculation. I peeked at your collection and they were mostly black and neutrals (fashion-wise navy is neutral) so versatile watches seem to work for you. Your shirts also have multiple colours and it’d be hard to match a purple watch, since introducing a third or fourth colour would have too many components competing for attention. The rose is different enough for you to love it and subtle enough for you to match with your current outfit. Black works too but you have a ton of black watches.

Agree! The original Azure blue is stunning. Alas it's a SE. And the other SE dials I've seen are amazing too.

I dunno if I can do purple. I can't get outta my head what my crusty old Vietnam vet Sgt told me years ago when I was but a young pup...

I went with Cielo and it hasn't left my wrist in 2 months (and counting). Absolutely stunning

How do you like the bracelet? I have the Sealander C63 in 36mm. It lives on a strap though as I wasn’t terrible impressed with the bracelet, specifically the clasp. On the fly adjustment is nice to have but the CW implementation seemed less refined than others I’m familiar with.

I find the bracelet to be extremely comfortable. The tolerances are very tight, and I use the on-the-fly constantly. One thing to be aware of: the type 2 titanium gives a slightly different hue vs the case's type 5. It's also fully brushed without the polish found on the case, which together makes the bracelet *just* a bit different and not as seamless as one might want. I don't have an issue with that and I wear it on the bracelet constantly, but it's something to be aware of.

The grainy gold dial one was an LE custom commissioned by a SF Bay Area watch club called Watches@. I’ve seen a few others LE’s including a dark red one for a Porsche club & the most recent one was an orange one for McLaren club. Also there were 10 blue Union Jack textured dial with some Roman numerals for the 12, 3, 6 & 9 that were auctioned for British watchmakers day back in March.

CW will make bespoke (custom commissioned) watches if there is a minimum order & what the minimum is depends on the model. I heard it is 100 minimum for the Bel Canto. There was a recent crowdfund to make the new C65 Dune into a Sector Dial & that one required 50.

Yup. And that's why I went flaccid towards CW

Every swinging tool making a SE devalue specialness of the edition in my opinion. Louis Erard also suffers from this - countless limited editions which aren't really limited because they keep reissuing them. There should be a strict law about special editions in Switzerland, similarly to what can be designated as Swiss made. Otherwise, it's a pure marketing fraud...
