Gotcha! Lucky!
Between the Rubik, The Griffy and what's the third? This more rounded one here? I think it's also known by the Rubik nickname, and the modules and function are the same...
If I had to choose just one of these 3... it would probably be the Griffy. The Rubik is an excellent watch, in all the colors and styles... but they are really basic and do what any Casio F91 does... but the Griffy is kind of special, and I really like that Armitron was the company that brought back an affordable, comfortable LED watch.
That's a very Armitron thing to do in my opinion.
Great watch... AWFUL AWFUL BAND. Unlike the silver rubik, or the Griffy this bracelet is the single most uncomfortable bracelet I have ever worn. Just touching it to your arm would pull hair.
I swapped an old gold expansion bracelet on there and it's perfect.
Lol. Not really, just a sad lesson I had to learn. If you ever see vintage watches, take a look at the back... if they look like Davy Jones had them on the Flying Dutchman at the bottom of the sea... it was some moron like me wearing them with a nickel allergy.
Lol. I do have one of the ones you liked too! It's also in my pics! But as far as Seiko digitals go... I don't actually! I have a really severe nickel allergy. My skin actively dissolves nickel into a wretched pitted green mess, and leaves an awful painful rash. I owned a few Seiko digitals over the years, and loved them from the front... but the backs dissolved so quick and were extremely uncomfortable. Their base metal bezels and lug arms and such really don't do well on my skin unfortunately. The gold plated ones work okay, until the plating wears through... but that's what makes these all Stainless Armitrons so nice.
Unfortunately... no. Not for a long time now. Melody watches were a huge fad in the early 80s but only for a few years. The same model but with a standard alarm is much easier to find. But they do pop up on ebay from time to time, just keep searching for Armitron Melody, or melody digital and you'll find one you like eventually. Good deals too sometimes. I paid less than 30 dollars for mine and all it needed was a new battery and a good clean and polish.
