Tourbillon

Bugatti released the successor to the Chiron, it’s called the Tourbillon after the watch complication.

Any other car fanatics in here? What are your thoughts?

Rimac ist the right CEO for Bugatti. Totally surprised me with the Tourbillion.

After reading the news that Mate Rimac will be the new CEO I had bad hopes for Bugatti and thought they would make an EV. He clearly understands his petrol head customers. Putting a naturally aspirated V16 in a car in 2024 is just madness.

Nice car, think I will pick one up. After I sell some body parts, rob banks, commit embezzlement and other crimes to raise the money the car likely costs!! Looks great though

·

They don't race. This is a fast car that's never been endurance tested or raced. It's expensive and fast until it breaks down and then we are back to expensive. Glitz but no soul = a Flex

I’m waiting for the Jacob & Co Bugatti Tourbillon Tourbillon

Looks like a scaled down size so the small, badly dressed individuals who buy these things can look slightly less ridiculous.

I agree, the engine is very impressive!

Very true… even if I had the funds I wouldn’t be buying a Bugatti with that kind of money. But I still admire the design and engineering. I think they did a great job with the Tourbillon.

I was never a fan of the Veyron’s appearance. But what I always admired from an engineering perspective was that Bugatti built a car with 1,000hp to be driven like a normal car. Doesn’t matter if you live in Miami or Alaska, doesn’t matter if you take the highway to work or all city driving. At the time it was unheard of to have that much power delivered in a streetable, refined, and relatively reliable package.

I do agree though that it would be neat to see Bugatti enter Le Mans or Daytona. Unfortunately though they wouldn’t be able to endurance race their V16 power plant, so it doesn’t really matter if they race the car, does it? As far as endurance testing though, I don’t believe Bugatti delivers a car to clients unless it has been rigorously tested at various temperatures/climates, elevations, roads, speeds, and for tens of thousands of miles. Unlike the Corvette Z06, I haven’t heard of a Veyron or Chiron overheating.

I’m sure they’ll be releasing something. The new Hacob watch will need a V16 inside now though 😂

This car is actually 27mm longer than the Chiron to fit the V16 in place of the Chiron’s W16.

I've been a "car guy" since my teen years back in the 70's ... my 1st car was a '76 AMC Gremlin and I currently drive a Hyundai Accent ... it was and still is a "finances" thing! LOL!! 😉

I did see that video, what a cool gauge cluster! That’s also a pre-production model, and I read that production models have gauges made by a Swiss watch maker, and they will have sapphire crystal covering the cluster. I also love that all of the gauges are mechanical with those gears, including the gauge that reads the level of charge in the battery.

Oh, and that Cosworth tuned v16 sounds pretty good too!
