Casio is like no other!

So about 9 months ago I bought this vintage Casio W-31 digital watch. I purchased this watch because it has the one that all of our want from modern Casio watches….a steel case. When I got the watch it was working as intended. After having the watch a day or two, I noticed a big dust spot on the inside of the case. So with this case, it has a easy enough pop off case back…so I thought. Once I got the watch case off, I couldn’t get the watch back together. So the watch had sat disassembled for months in a plastic bag. But I decided to get some non metallic tweezers and gloves and give it a shot tonight. With microfibers and the right tools, I got it back together….however.

Once the watch was all assembled, the start/stop button would not work. I tinkered around, in and out and all around wiggled the movement and nothing but the mode worked. Out of the watch the vintage module worked on all 3 contacts. I then had a crazy ideas! Weeks before I had disassembled a F-91W to see if I could harvest the battery to power a different watch. The battery was completely a different size. So this movement was just chilling on my counter. I eyeballed it and everything looks suspiciously the same size. Seconds later the module slipped into the W-31 case and I have a fully functioning Casio. How amazing is it that Casio has made it where I can have this vintage watch last forever by getting new modules if ever the LCD dies and also I can mod the internals if desired in the further… Another reason Casio is GODTIER.
