NWA - Saturday morning with Tudor

Conclusion to my earlier post (Friday night with Tudor).

Started at the Tag boutique. Wanted to look at the new Aquaracers and Carrera glassbox chrono.

Aquaracers were a big large for what I’m looking for right now. I love the new dial though - great design. The micro adjust on the bracelet was nice as well. However, the bracelet didn’t have screw pins for links. I feel like something in this price range should have this mandatory.

The Glassbox is a beautiful watch. Perfect size. The crystal design is perfect. However, something just didn’t click with me. It seemed like Tag is trying too hard to make it look luxurious and blingy with the indices? Was hard to place exactly what is was. Something just didn’t connect.

Next went to another Tudor AD to check on the Black Bay 54 I wanted to try on last night.

I’d read some reviews saying it seems like it would be too small but something clicks when you put it on wrist. That is 100% correct! It just melts into the wrist and it’s just felt right as soon as I put it on. I knew this was the one. It felt luxurious yet simple - exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Tag it was miles above. Further proof that a watch can be MUCH different in person vs online (Tag).

Side note - the T fit clasp and bracelet are OUTSTANDING. The design is perfect. The other on the fly micro adjustment clasps I have are HUGE compared to this (specifically C Ward, Traska is very close to T-fit). It’s perfect.

It was my first in person luxury watch purchase (first luxury watch period pending your classification of Christopher Ward!). I can now see why people make luxury purchases. They made me feel like a baller 😂.

Also, while I was waiting for the bracelet to be sized I had to try on a couple Rolex for future reference 😉.

And saw a Grand Seiko in the flesh for the first time. All I can say is WOW. The dial is immaculate and the movement is beautiful. It’s on my wish list now.

Hopefully this wasn’t too long winded haha. It was a great start to the weekend!

They only had the 36mm. I thought it would be too small. I was wrong! I didn’t mind the size. It’s a beautiful, simplistic watch.

Congrats mate!

You chose right my man! 💪🏻

·

Congrats JR, that is a great watch. I’ve had those experiences both ways, like the pics don’t like it on, and conversely, don’t like the pics but like it on. That’s exactly my experience with Tudor, never thought much about them from the pics, but figured I should at least try one on….now there are like 3 or 4 on my short list. Oh, and I can vouch for the AK, I just happen to have mine on today…took 7 months but was worth the wait.

A great choice! My good friend @Chunghauphoto has one and it's a tremendous piece.

Welcome to the Tudor club! Whatever the question Tudor is often the answer in my opinion!
