Movement education

I decided to educate my self more on movements. What better way then taking one apart and attempting to put back together. Just took apart a Seiko NH-35A movement. Was pretty straight forward. Only hiccup was the C clips. If anyone knows a good way to remove them with out them shooting off into space 🚀please let me know. If I’m lucky I’ll find them🧐if not I’m sure I’ll be able to find online. Live and learn. 👨‍🏫

Good job taking this step in your education!

I watched some of Alex Hamiltons videos and read the Bulova watchermakets PDF on line and complete serviced with an early 1970s Seiko. Good experience.

That c-clip will turn up..... Probably in about eight months when you are looking for a tiny screw that made a break for freedom!

I also have a cheap movement at home ready for me to disassemble, but based on my previous effort to change a date wheel, I am not quite ready for it!

I’d never undertake such a chore but I do love watching servicing vids on YouTube. I have learned so much about how a mechanical watch works from them. I enjoy trying to diagnose a problem when a watch is in for repair. The surprising part is that the basic watch mechanics are pretty universal with additional modules added for each complication. Hope you find the missing parts
