Needing help with my next watch choice.

Hello fellow crunchers.

Been thinking about my next watch purchase ( as I am sure we all do ).

What I really like and want as opposed to just getting another watch.

Looking at this being a Christmas present to myself for working at my current place of employment for 15 years

My attention has been drawn to flieger watches.

I love the clean simple dial, the lack of a date complication. Something that is tough and rugged.

My budget is 500 aussie dollars ( roughly 330 US ).

40 mm minimum up to 44 mm case size.

No homage brands

New not used

Would like to look into microbrands as opposed to the big brands.

Now I know being in Australia if I do choose something from overseas then I will have to pay a fair chunk in freight ( joys of living at the ass end of the world).

Anyway hopefully you learned watch crunchers can help me out.

Cheers to all 👍

What second crown?

I dunno, man. There must be one somewhere. Just tell him "it's for an internal bezel"

In a similar sort of "predicament," but I have a few years to contemplate my big, hopefully last, watch purchase. I know you're a Citizen fan; I've also been drawn to The Citizen line:

The big caveat with these is the fact that they're a lot of money. I sort of like the "Tsuyosa" line on some days. They're definitely more affordable (3 - 400 USD):

It does have a date complication, but some of the colors are bold and bright. I doubt I get one, but if I did, it'd be colorful.

The agony of choice. I find myself just wanting a watch that tells the time. No bells or whistles, no complications.

I have about 5 or so months to make up my mind, so time to research, research and research again 😅

Sounds like you exactly want a Laco flieger 🙌

·

Classic flieger, just a little above your goal price. Laco Aachen. Very well made.

With the Laco Augsburg or Aachen you ought to be able to get a discount if you buy in a boutique. I got mine for around USD 250 in Malaysia a year ago
