I attended a touching Eugenics Memorial today at the Mental Health Musuem that my wife founded in 2016. It is always inspiring being around the movers and shakers that create change through research, education and legislation. The musuem doesn't sugar coat past practices such as electroshock therapy, lobotomies and forced sterilizations which seems surreal today. I began my long career in California as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician after a few rewarding years of working with autistic children. Since then I've worked with almost every type of vulnerable population and discovered that having hobbies like collecting watches is key for decompressing. My old Psych Tech pin is in one of the pics above, gotta love the California Bear! It's been a rewarding field to work in with plenty of room for improvement.
