Thanks, the two tone Chronomat works best on a genuine Breitling UTC strap.

Because of the UTC module the authentic strap pieces have two different sized ends. One is 18mm the other is 20mm so finding original straps or having custom ones made are the only good options. I got super lucky finding the green strap matching my green dial in Italy and I've never spotted another one since.

It looks so good I keep putting off switching it back to the famous Breitling slant link bracelet but perhaps soon.

There is a way to use an analog watch to determine direction that involves aiming the hour hand per hemisphere at the sun though to me it's mostly a novelty that I don't remember exactly.

BRW I've seen several variations of both the UTC bezel and dial layout with the compass bezel perhaps being the most whimsical.

I did Google this strap and saw the variations you mentioned. This strap is fun to collect!

I've seen the UTC modules by themselves selling for ridiculous amounts of money.

If my UTC module hadn't come with the Chronomat I don't think I would have pursued one but it definitely provides a "certain look of an era".
