I've always liked them but a friend who is a collector talked me into getting some new watches.

Aside from basic casios growing up my first nice purchase was a citizen calibre 2100 in 2005 aka the Ron Swanson watch

Grönefeld Deltaworks 1969, crazy attention to detail and something you're not going to see.
