I'm having a difficult time deciding. For my group of 4. I have a SARB017 Alpinist, SBDC087 Shark Tooth Alpinist, and 38mm Khaki Field black auto. I'd like to add another Hamilton to the collection as the 4th to the group.
I was hesitant at first if this watch was worth the MSRP. Seeing as it’s mostly sold out everywhere and even at gray market prices or used it’s only about $150 cheaper than MSRP. It’s more than double what I paid for my Khaki Field Auto and almost twice as my shark tooth Alpinist. Either way, I still bought it and was almost underwhelmed at first. It’s a familiar watch to my Khaki Field however there’s less going on with the dial and it is probably my more “boring” watch I own. However, the more I wear it the more I like it. The lume will not impress anyone but I could still clearly read the time in the morning. The dimensions are perfect and so is it's 20mm lug width. I almost went for a Longines Flagship or Longines Spirit 37, or the other Hamiltons in the poll, but Longines both have 19mm lug widths (and the Spirit 37 eats up straps with its short lugs and sharp case, ouch) and I have many 20mm straps and something about the dial on the Murph is special, albeit plain, but well done. I was also trying to stick to known brands during my hunt for another field watch around $1000 under 40mm in size. I’ve had bad experiences with micro brands in parts availability and servicing. This Murph is a well done design that keeps growing on me.

I have C and the stainless version of D. I voted C.
C is one of my favorites. There’s just something about it.
I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the choices, though. Hamilton makes fine watches. Sorry I haven’t been any help. 😆
Neither. MURPH!
Neither. MURPH!
Ok, your single comment got me looking into the Murph and you won. Picking up a new Murph from the local AD later today! 👏

Very nice. As you say, simple … but a very nice aesthetic.
