Summer Blue Watch

Hey everyone, I wanted to know your thoughts/opinions on these two watches, I am looking for a great summer blue watch with no date. I have always thought it would be the BB58 however the FXD has really caught my eye recently. I wanted to know your experiences with either watches or what your choice would be

Any other suggestions for a no date blue dive watch to wear in the summer and casually would be greatly appreciated!!

Both of these watches would be a great choice. The Pelagos looks more vibrant but you cannot put a metal band on it. The BB58 looks traditional and can be dressed up or down and used for multiple occasions. It is a hard choice and only you can decide the use for the watch, its diversity, and its limitations. Good luck on the choice.

Pelagos comes on a bracelet if you prefer.

I got the BB58 because...

#1 the blue is a darker blue

#2 I liked the circles instead of the squares

#3 the size for me was better

Sorry about that. Then my choice would be the Pelegos. Thank you for the clarification.

Because of the fixed lugs I don't think people realize the FXD is really a different kind of strap monster. And being titanium, on the right single pass it's super comfortable.

·

Hmm ... just my opinion, but the BB58 has that "Tudor" look to me. But it all depends what you are looking for. Me personally, I like the cleaner bezel look, less "busy". But then I again, I am not the person buying the watch. Buy what call to you louder. Good luck in choosing. 👍

I don't like the squared off lug shape where it meets the case. I think a natural gap around the curve of the case looks better when used with a strap.

So the second one for me.

I do love the Pelagos, but I wish Tudor didn’t do the date window on the blue

The black doesn’t have one and looks better to me

I think the Pelagos FXD has fixed lugs. It's like one piece of titanium. FXD = fixed - meaning the lugs. No spring bars.

Fair point, if you want a bracelet you can get it on the “regular” but not the FXD.

As a BB58 Blue owner I’m gonna say go with it. It’s my most comfortable watch (even w/o a micro adjustment). It’s my GADA watch and I actually use it for all of that. Weddings to yard work from the pool to the porch. It’s an amazing watch that you can use in any situation. I don’t see the FDX being able to do that.

·

Have you considered other brands too or you pretty much set to Tudor?

·

Out of those two the FXD hands down. It’s an awesome piece. Personally I can’t stand the BB. Have you looked at the Seamaster 300? It’s another under the radar piece with even better specs that the fxd.

Redo as a poll so we can see results hehe 😉. but the left looks better, but it might be do to the airbrushing that all the pictures have nowadays so they look like cartoon or pixar graphics hehe. I would recommend finding a wrist shot unadultered by filters and camera tricks or airbrushing.

·

More partial to the Pelly myself but the BB is unquestionably more versatile and either are very good…All depends on the use case or which better suits your lifestyle but that said, as cool as the FXD is, if I was in the market for a 💣 proof diver, I think I’d go Sinn instead. Happy hunting

·

Couldn’t be happier with it 💙

The BB58 in my opinion is the more versatile watch. The FXD is limited to only NATO straps, whereas the bb58 you can pair it with anything.

Either way, both are great. You can’t go wrong.

·

I’ve never seen either watch in person so take my advice with a grain of salt, but people that have the FXD really seem to speak highly of it as a “summer” watch. I think if I were in your position and already had a watch for formal occasions or business wear, then I’d get the FXD. Seems like a fun watch.

·

Tough choice. Good luck. Sorry, ... no help, other than ... you can't go wrong with either.

·

I like the one on the left.

·

For versatility I would choose the 58. But it depends on what you have in your collection.

With what tou have. I would opt for the FXD as a durable option for summer outdoor activities and everyday use.

·

MN FXD FTW 🙌

The fixed lug separates it from most other watches including the BB58. The lighter titanium should make it wear easier.

The FXd should fit well with your Railmaster and Seamaster.

I am leaning that way as well tbh, is the blue of the FXD more like the blue of the 58 or the Pelagos

I haven’t seen the other Pelagos variants in person but from the couple of online side by side photos, it seems to be closer to that of the BB58.

If it’s for summer then FXD all the way! Fabric or rubber strap + titanium = winner

Do you know where to find a rubber strap for it? I keep just finding NATOs

Both the M.N & black Pelagos FXD come together with free rubber straps
