You had one job!

... and you did it perfectly, Harlock (my G-Shock GST-B600). ๐Ÿ‘

Forget about GADA, this is my DIA watch - DOES IT ALL!

I recently had a weekend of firsts. I was to fly down from my home in Edmonton, Canada to help my sister-in-law drive a moving van from Oakland, California to Seattle, Washington, and return from SeaTac Airport. That's a 800 mile road trip, and I would be helping to load and unload the truck too. I needed a timepiece that was tough, that could handle some bumps, and the inevitable man-sweat in a move. Harlock was my choice for that timepiece, my FIRST G-Shock and "flashy" watch ever in Oakland.

Having lived in Oakland and the Bay Area for 2 years as a missionary years ago, it was an exciting prospect, but I have never travelled that distance including flight time, all in the course of one weekend - a FIRST. I took the BART from SFO to Oakland, another FIRST; and despite having lived there from 1991-1993 when it was the murder capital of the USA, the present Oakland was a real eye opener; it's a lot worse now. It was the FIRST time I had any fear for my well-being while visiting. The only constant is change, right?

What a great weekend it was for Harlock and I. Definitely experienced a few things, some nice, some not so nice! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Got home at 2AM Monday morning and back to work, on time!

What is your DIA watch? ๐Ÿ’ช

Burgermaster is very close to my in-laws in Bellevue. Been there once a few years ago. My problem with trips is that there are so many places to eat at and so little time, even when I visit Seattle and area nearly every year. My new experience this trip was Krispy Krunch Chicken ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ—.

How did I miss this?! Great post, Dan!

I love your name for your G - Harlock - it somehow fits it perfectly. The do it all nature of the watch and its name creates an air of magic about it.

The candid photography was also a pleasure - nice perspective on those mean streets and what a weekend! ๐Ÿซก

Haha, I fear the name is lost on all but the educated few. ๐Ÿ˜

I really didn't have much time for photos. Street photography, the way I do it requires a lot of prep, and I didn't have the time to allow people to acclimate to the presence of a photog. Plus I didn't have a bead on potential responses, nor did I research what laws were in public spaces for pics in the strange state that is California.
