Nice to have you on board on the wabi sabi Wednesday, Dan. Very cool photographic choices on black and white and broken (burnt 😜) leaves. I’m loving all the awesome perspectives and interpretations. Have we achieved inner contentment for no more watches (bonkclips included) and the way for simplicity?

Thanks, Trevor. Inner contentment? I'm still on WC, am I not? Contentment in the status quo doesn't exist in this dojo! 😅
Lovely image, Dan. No failure here. Peaceful thoughts and nature abound here. Great choice to go B+W 😎
Thanks John. I struggled with this theme. Ideally, I would prefer a watch that has seen some things, but all mine are relatively new and scratch free. It's hard to implement the idea of wabi-sabi and Zen Buddhism that my Japanese prof described years ago.
Yes Wabi-Sabi is an aesthetic borne out of a reaction to the lavishness and extravagance of the time, and embraces and celebrates beauty in imperfection, impermanence, asymmetry,
But.. it is also about finding joy in the ordinary, the mundane and the overlooked. It is a state of mind which centres on simplicity, mindfulness and an appreciation of nature.
So, your image doesn't need to contain a beaten up old timekeeper. You can focus on something natural that gives a feeling of peace or a memento that reminds you of the past.. a family heirloom maybe.

At one level it is those characteristics but the total message (for me) can also be the absolute ordinariness of things/actions…in popular culture 👇

In the WatchCrunch your watch is just a prop for #wabisabiwednesday
As Trevor, reminds us.. there are many interpretations.

You beat me to it. My gif was bad…imperfect and kept failing 😁
Okay, John. I'll take the "L" here, but only because it feels like a "W". 😆

It's all getting a bit too deep, Dan. Just post your best shot (which you always do anyway), add #wabisabiwednesday and you'll be fine
Looks fantastic Dan! I'm no expert, but I'd say it's a rousing success!

Thanks James, looks like we both survived our #wabisabi hazing just fine... 😄

Hey thanks, Danilo. Was so focused on wabi sabi that I didn't add the #chiaroscuro tag.
