What weight do you look for?

For me 60g is usually the limit for comfort.

Depends on the watch.

I don't want a heavy dress watch and I don't want a light diver.

Field / pilot watches somewhere in the middle.

Max is probably under 200g. Those half pound Invictas are a joke.

Only too light (under 50g or so) feels off to me. Preferably in the 100-200g range on bracelet. But I would even rock a 285g Platinum Daytona if someone gifted it to me 😂

180g is my limit

·

Perfect is around 150g on bracelet

·

My favorite watches are ~110g on bracelet (Lorier Falcon, Lorier Astra)

·

The weight doesn't bother me on watches I'd actually buy, which are mostly around 40mm. I don't really pay attention to weight when I'm looking for a new watch. I know it's gonna be fine for me.

·

I don't have any watches over 180g. Dress I would prefer light. Diver on the heavier side taking into account the bracelet.

·

The total weight is less important to me than the balance around the wrist. I don't want a watch that feels top heavy.

·

But I can carry mid to heavy

·

Ultra weight feels cheap. Heavy weight is uncomfortable. Middle weight with a comfortable strap/bracelet is perfect.

The same as everywhere: im also into knives and i dont wanna use a gentleman's folder for chopping wood. I don't wanna use any kind of classic outdoor knive while wearing a suit.

Gues the key is: which ones offer a good or perfect combination for the Owner. If your really into such things you will not have enough with just one piece in the collection.

Chronograph- Heavy

Dive/pilots - mid weight

Casual/Dress- light/Midweight dependant on case/Movement

Are the weights for the poll for the watch head only? Otherwise calling 90g heavy seems extreme when a Pelagos 39 on bracelet weighs 105g and people complain about it being too light. I look at lot more at the weight on bracelet than I do on just a watch head but love it if total weight is under 130g, even better under 110g. I’ve worn watches in the 180-200g range but their weight definitely limited the wear time

Personally, I have never once considered the weight of a watch. I notice the difference on wrist of course, but it’s not something I take into consideration when purchasing.

·

150gm or less for me.

·

How else are you supposed to build your forearms if you’re not wearing super heavy watches lol

·

I have all the above and enjoy all of them .

·

Never though about this... 😂 So another thing to stress over. 🤣

On a serious note, I feel really comfortable with my Titanium citizen.

Scale doesn't make sense to me. Are you only weighing the watch head? Most watches I've ever owned weigh more than 150g especially if they have a bracelet .

·

I’ve never concerned myself with the weight of a watch. I never even realized people filtered through watches by total weight. Learned something new today.

·

The obsession with weight is ridiculous. It's a watch not a dumbbell. They aren't heavy

·

I really never consider weight as long as the size fits in the parameters I’m looking for I’m happy

·

On a well balanced bracelet up to 120g I can wear all day no problem. Anything under 100g on a bracelet I barely notice and sometimes have to check it's still there.

On a strap the equation changes because the band is much lighter and a watch becomes imbalanced and top heavy more easily.

Watch head plus strap fits in the scale.

By the time you add a bracelet I'd consider it in the heavy category.

Not really.

Heavy watches require tighter fit on the wrist which some find uncomfortable.

Many watch guys have a permanent indent from the pressure.

Plus light watches are better for many types of sports.

Also by weight of the watch head.

And as the guy above mentioned, possibly by balance too.

Under 90g would be on strap.

On bracelet I usually consider the unit to be in the heavy category.

Except titanium or mesh bracelets might be under 90g total.

Of course we could have a bracelet scale too if we wanted. Titanium at the low end and super chunky gold at the other end.

I'm not even sure how heavy those are as I've never wanted to buy a gold watch.
