What is a feature on a watch that almost always makes you look twice?

I love anything mil spec or a true diver, but there is always one feature that makes me just say ok I want that. For me it's a inner rotating bezel. It is probably my favorite feature a watch can have and for some reason always draws me in. What is something that if you see it on a watch you think to yourself I have to have that?

I have never cared either way for day or date complications. But I have noticed that I do enjoy a good no date dial more than I used to.

Gotta be the lack of date for me too.

Indices that aren't round.

·

I do like that Longines! Looks lovely that!

Oh that hurt my heart 💔. Not the round indicies!

Yes, dunno why, no logic to it. Just find them visually irritating.

Think it's maybe because sharp pointy indices looks more precise than blurry blobs.

Weird one..

Haha yes I dig them too. Seen lots of hate for them though mostly from rolex owners 🤣😂

That's how I feel about round dials in a square case. Just looks like pizza in a box haha

Dial colour/texture for me

I don’t get it - it’s such a good design. Especially with block indices.

Much prefer it to a stubby Mercedes hand!

Like you, love twin crowns (compressor or not) far more interesting than just a bezel. And I do like world timers, just lining up the different cities, yeah!!! (inner rotating bezels or external bezels) gets my vote.

Dails and complications, can’t say it’s any one thing. I just need to feel something. My watch collection is diverse and colorful. I have $20 dallor watches next to $$$$$+ watches. What do they all have in common????? I saw something that was different and interesting. Hate to say it but I just don’t have a single feature that “I have to have”.

That's understandable. The inner rotating bezel isn't a must have for me in fact I only have one. But it is a feature I am getting drawn to more and more and will make me take a hard double take.

Reading that made me think of one thing, lug width. Sounds weird but I have a lot of 20mm straps. The last handful of watches all have the same lug width. i have gotten into swapping straps on my watches to give them new looks and feels. This has been a boom for my collection. So ya, I guess there was one feature afterall😁

100% with you on that nothing bothers me more about a watch I like and it has 21mm lug width haha and I have a few.

Wow now that you say it, I think that I won't be able to ignore that a circle is not as precise as a line. 🫨

I do like an internal rotating bezel... For others in my collection I lean towards vintage influence, and I also gravitate towards 12 hour bezels (internal or regular)

A moonphase… especially one with a day/sun wheel too, like the El Primero, I’d day dream all day!

·

Calculator 💯

·

Lately I want a dial with some gradient to it. If it has a date complication or others, I am sold if it is cleverly integrated to not interrupt the indices.

·

Some method of timing.

·

A fluted bezel - not because it is the coolest, but the bling always draws my attention.
