Description

The brand Raketa which means "Rocket" was created in 1962 by the Petrodvorets Watch Factory in St. Petersburg to honor astronaut Yuri Gagarin.

Big Zero was originally intended for the visually impaired but because of its style it gained mainstream popularity.

In 1985 it was allegedly worn by Mikhael Gorbachev at a summit in Italy. The press noticed the watch and made the front page of the newspaper with a headline "Russians are starting from zero".
