Singapore 2015, Leon Leong was cycling on his usual route to work. He was about to join his team to pitch a kickstarter called BOLDR Venture which was an outdoor "clever watch". The concept was an analog watch with modern technology to aid and track daily activities.
It was a success and enough backers helped the project reach its fundraising targets. The company came up with their mission statement "Integrity and Transparency".
However, few setbacks arose in terms of the rise in cost and licensing that made the project financially impractical. With sadness the company decided to shut their shophouse and return the money to their would be customers.
The watch community encouraged Leon and his team to keep going and pivot to other undertakings. To commemorate the path and hardships faced, BOLDR Journey was born as the first official watch of the company and the rest is history.
